The Pink Marshmallow

Verse 1
We keep a bag of marshmallows in the cupboard by the sink,
Four little colors to tell us what the grown-ups think.
Green means “everything’s fine, go outside and play,”
Yellow means “watch it, don’t push it today.”

Chorus
But the pink marshmallow, that’s the one we fear,
If you see it in the jar, you better disappear!
’Cause green is cool, yellow’s a frown,
Orange means the steam train’s comin’ to town—
But pink… oh pink…
That’s the nuclear meltdown marshmallow!

Verse 2
Orange shows up when the homework’s not done,
Or you spilled grape juice on the rug just for fun.
You might still talk your way back to green,
If you clean up quick and act real keen.

Bridge
It starts with a sigh, then the eyebrows twitch,
The voice gets quiet—oh, we know that pitch.
We trade nervous looks, then we all agree,
“Hide the bag and run! It’s at pink, I see!”

Chorus
The pink marshmallow, that’s the one we fear,
If you see it in the jar, you better disappear!
’Cause green is cool, yellow’s a frown,
Orange means the steam train’s comin’ to town—
But pink… oh pink…
That’s the nuclear meltdown marshmallow!

Tag/Outro
So keep your room clean, and your hands to yourself,
Don’t pull candy from the top pantry shelf.
’Cause if we stay green, life’s sweet and mellow,
And no one bites into…
The pink marshmallow.
